A proud resident for 25 years in Australia and she is passionate about giving back to this vibrant community. She supported local businesses and contributed to various communities. A leader who always prides herself on giving something back to the community, served on numerous boards, charitable organizations, and business councils, she is an active figure in the Indonesian Diaspora Business Council.
She led a construction company and later became a partner in a construction firm. Her time in the building industry was fulfilling, sparking a deep passion for building and infrastructure work. Since 2009, she has been the principal builder at GV Constructions (WA), focusing on residential projects.
In 2015, she was elected as the Managing Partner of the Perth office of Vazari Pty Ltd. At that time, the firm employed around 100 subcontractors and employees. This role allowed her to build strong relationships with decision-makers in the private and government sectors, both locally and internationally. She has always been a strong advocate for her diverse and multicultural community in Australia.
Throughout her career, she actively collaborated with leaders, directors, and business owners, including those in the not-for-profit sector. Her dedication to community engagement and service has been a central theme in her professional journey.
Astrid has represented Western Australia and Australia at international conferences for non-government organizations held in various cities. These experiences provided valuable insights into global business practices and changing trends, especially in the Australia-Asia relationship.
She has served on several boards and committees, including Austrade Women in Global Business (WIGB), the Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII), Master Builders Association Women in Building Committee (WinBac), and HIA Building Women. She also chaired the Business Advisory Group for the City of Canning from 2017 to 2020, emphasizing the importance of diverse teamwork and strategic guidance.
In her leisure hours, Astrid is an avid Scrabble enthusiast, always eager to take on a worthy opponent. With finesse, she dominates the lanes in ten-pin bowling, showcasing her skill. Additionally, Astrid finds joy in the swift movements of badminton and the thrill of bike riding, actively participating in the annual Bike Week festivities.
